Thomas Cryer is a historian of education, ideas, and memory in the twentieth-century United States currently based at University College London’s Institute of the Americas. Tom currently lives in Edinburgh and is finalising his PhD thesis, which examines memory, nationhood, and racialisation through the career of the historian John Hope Franklin (1915-2009).
